Her name is Nancy Sullivan and she is the perfect person to play both Drake and Josh's mother. Why? Well, she has worked with them before and did a great job doing it! In case you didn't know yet, Nancy was the school teacher ( Mrs. Yumbo ) and also played the mother of "the Simians" on "The Amanda Show".
Nancy is a lot happier now that the character she plays is not as clueless and "out of touch" as her previous two roles ( mentioned above ). She fine tuned her acting and singing skills while enrolled at the University of Utah. Not to mention all of her time spent doing various Off-Broadway productions.
Nancy Sullivan may appear quite familiar to fans. She has had roles in many popular programs such as, "Beverly Hills 90210", "JAG", "Melrose Place", "The Pretender", the well known soap opera "One Life to Live", and even co-hosted "Game-TV" on The Game Show Network. Watching the work she's done thus far, including her current role on "Drake and Josh", it is not too surprising when you find out who she considers to be her role models. Lucille Ball, Carol Burnett, and Tracey Ullman are all great role models for anyone to have! They all have had very successful shows of their own and to this day are watched by many fans.
With Nancy's record, I wouldn't be shocked to hear that she is well on her way to joining the list of great female comedian actresses. Nancy Sullivan has loads of charisma. She is great at playing her role as the mom on "Drake and Josh". I can't imagine a better choice!
